The Psychology Department at Wits is large and vibrant, with a strong research and professional-training reputation. We are currently advertising one senior academic post with primary responsibilities in the teaching of research methods, production of research publications, and supervision of postgraduate (including PhD-level) research.
Requirements: In addition to an academic field of research and teaching expertise in psychology, the candidate must have a strong interest and experience in the use and high-level teaching of research methodology, design and analysis.
Qualifications: are a PhD, experience in academic administration and leadership, and a teaching, postgraduate supervision, research, and public profile commensurate with the rank of Associate Professor.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be required to take on senior leadership roles in the department and school; teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in research methods and analysis; supervise postgraduate students; be research-active and offer research mentorship/ leadership; participate in interdisciplinary research and teaching; and take part in the intellectual and public life of the school and university.
