The Department of Chemical Engineering, which enjoys an international reputation in teaching and research, invites applications from suitably qualified persons for a 3-year contract lecturer post.
The Department is actively committed to teaching and research. Research is carried out in the areas of bioprocess engineering, catalysis and catalytic processing, engineering education, environmental systems and process systems engineering, minerals processing, precipitation and crystallisation. The Department enjoys strong, global industrial support for its teaching and research programmes, and maintains close links with the South African chemical, petrochemical, biotechnological and minerals industries.
Post: Fixed-Term Contract Posts - 3 Years
Lecturer posts in Chemical Engineering: Applicants are expected to hold a BSc (Eng) degree in Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering or BSc (Hons) degree in an allied discipline. The applicant is expected to have significantly progressed with her/his studies towards a higher degree, preferably a PhD. The undergraduate degree programme is ECSA accredited and the successful applicant would be expected to contribute to the teaching of the undergraduate Chemical Engineering curriculum. The successful candidate is also expected to contribute to the research expertise in the Department dealing with aspects of mineral beneficiation.
The annual remuneration package for 2018 for fixed-term contracts, including benefits, for Lecturer Level is R478 207 – R639 848.
