Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/ Professor in the Department of Zoology and Entomology

All academics are responsible for the dissemination of knowledge (teaching and learning), creation of knowledge (research) and community engagement, recognising that there are differences in the execution of these responsibilities within the various departments and Faculties. Academics are also expected to assume some administrative, management and/or leadership duties at the departmental, Faculty and/or University level, and contribute to their profession.

Lecturer:

At least a PhD in Zoology or Marine Biology or another cognate discipline. Tutoring, facilitation or conference presentation experience required. No teaching experience required. Ability to teach in the following disciplinary areas: marine ecophysiology, marine ecology and animal diversity. No research supervision required. Some administrative experience albeit in informal contexts e.g. student or sports clubs, work experiences.

Senior Lecturer:

At least a PhD in Zoology or Marine Biology or another cognate discipline. Teaching experience at the undergraduate and post graduate levels required. Experience in teaching in the following disciplinary areas: marine ecophysiology, marine ecology and biological modelling. Research supervision of at least Masters' degrees required. Emerging national profile in discipline. Track record of administration, management, and/or leadership roles (leadership roles may be informal).

Associate Professor:

At least a PhD in Zoology or Marine Biology or another cognate discipline. Considerable teaching experience at the undergraduate and post graduate levels required including Masters and PhD levels. Experience in teaching in the following disciplinary areas: marine ecophysiology, marine ecology and biological modelling. Research supervision of Masters and PhD degrees required. National and emerging international profile in discipline. Track record of administration, management, and/or leadership roles (leadership roles may be informal).

Professor:

At least a PhD in Zoology or Marine Biology or another cognate discipline. Extensive teaching experience at the undergraduate and post graduate levels required including at Masters and PhD levels. Experience in teaching in the following disciplinary areas: marine ecophysiology, marine ecology and biological modelling. Research supervision of Masters and PhD degrees required. International profile in discipline. Track record of administration, management, and/or leadership roles (leadership roles may be informal).
