  • A detailed curriculum vitae and cover letter (please note that the first three (3) referees on your CV will be contacted with regard to reference checking);

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Teach various components of undergraduate Physiotherapy components Pulmonology, ICU, Cardiothoracic Surgery and General Surgery.
  • Provide clinical accompaniment and supervision for students during clinical sessions.
  • Assess Physiotherapy students for clinical skills in various components of the undergraduate programme.
  • Engage in the community service learning initiatives of the department.
  • Perform various administrative duties within the department and the School for Allied Health Professions.
  • Market the undergraduate programme within the Department of Physiotherapy.

Inherent requirements:

Junior Lecturer:

  • BSc on NQF level 8 in Physiotherapy.
  • Three (3) years’ relevant experience in the field of cardio-respiratory care.
  • Registered with Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a qualified physiotherapist.
  • A good academic record.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Lecturer:

  • Master’s degree on NQF level 9 in Physiotherapy.
  • Three (3) years’ relevant experience in the field of cardio-respiratory care.
  • Proven experience in the delivery of poster or oral presentations at conferences or equivalent activities.
  • Provide evidence of manuscripts produced that have the potential to be converted or submitted for publication, ideally in an accredited journal.
  • Registered with Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a qualified physiotherapist.
  • A good academic record.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Recommendations:

Junior Lecturer:

  • Master's degree or willingness to enroll for a master's degree in Physiotherapy at the first available opportunity, if not yet attained by the time of the appointment./li>
  • CPT 1 certificate.

Lecturer:

  • Doctoral degree or willingness to enroll for a doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy at the first available opportunity, if not yet attained by the time of the appointment.
  • CPT 1 certificate.

Assumption of duties: As soon as possible.
