Duties and responsibilities:

  • Present Musculo-skeletal Injuries and Rehabilitation II (module BIKI 3808).
  • Supervise Biokinetic 3rd - and 4th -year students for modules BIKP3708 & BIKP4800 (Professional Internship I & Professional Internship II (WIL/Work place based learning).
  • Independently perform orthopaedic and metabolic evaluations and rehabilitation as prescribed, and outlined in the HPCSA guidelines.
  • Apply all procedures as outlined in the Health Faculty Rulebook, required for students enrolled in the Bachelor's Degree in Biokinetics.
  • Assist with marketing initiatives for Biokinetics academic programme.
  • Assist with planning, oversight and/or supervision of Service-learning programmes within the scope of Biokinetics.

Inherent requirements:

  • Magister Artium - Human Movement Sciences (Biokinetics): completed or completion in 2020.
  • Registered with the Health Professionals Council of South Africa as Biokineticist.
  • One year's relevant work experience of presenting Musculo-skeletal Injuries and Rehabilitation in a professional degree.
  • A good academic record.
