Duties and responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and updating of processes, procedures, policies and operational manuals.
  • Take responsibility for keeping up to date with NSFAS and the University rules.
  • Take responsibility for quality control of financial aid data and capturing of data.
  • Assist with the planning and organisation of application-, award- and claim-related activities.
  • Assist with the administration and monitoring of policies, procedures and processes regarding financial aid.
  • Compile accurate and meaningful financial aid reports, development and conduct applicable research in this regard.
  • Attend and contribute towards the sectional meetings, general staff meetings etc.
  • Supervise and train staff.
  • Take responsibility for special projects.
  • Responsible for the preparing of NSFAS claims.

Inherent requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree or a B.Tech degree on NQF level 7 with Accounting.
  • A minimum of five (5) years' relevant experience related to the duties and responsibilities or equivalent financial or banking experience.

Recommendations:

  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft.
  • Experience of working within the Higher Education environment, especially Financial Aid.
  • Sound knowledge of Financial Aid requirements and rules.

Assumption of duties: As soon as possible.
