Applications are invited for one full-time permanent appointment at the Lecturer level in the Department of Historical Studies, University of Cape Town. Expectations:
We particularly encourage application from scholars pursuing innovative research in any field of intellectual, cultural,
economic, political and social history of modern Africa. Academic fluency in historically underrepresented southern
African vernaculars will be very positively considered. Candidates would be expected to have strong empirical grounding
in their fields of specialization, a collaborative spirit, theoretical fluency, and ability and willingness to develop and teach
critical and imaginative courses beyond their immediate research fields.
The annual cost of employment, including benefits is, R730 510
