The Department of Industrial Psychology at Stellenbosch University aspires to position its graduates in the labour market as professional and scientifically informed human resource practitioners and industrial psychologists. Visit our web page at

  • Undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in the field of Employment Relations and Labour Law within the Industrial Psychology and Human Resource Management programmes;
  • Academic leadership and coordination of Human Resource Management programmes, including the postgraduate diploma in Strategic Human Resource Management;
  • Postgraduate supervision and research;
  • Presenting research results at conferences;
  • Publishing research results in scientific peer-reviewed journals;
  • Participating in internal and external service rendering and social impact relevant to the academic rank.
Job Requirements:
  • A doctorate in Industrial Psychology or Human Resource Management;
  • Evidence of publications in scientific peer-reviewed journals and the impact of work as reflected in h-indexes (such as Google Scholar, Scopus and Web of Science);
  • Work and teaching experience with respect to Employment Relations, Labour Law and Strategic Human Resource Management.
  • Registration with the Professional Board for Psychology as Industrial Psychologist;
  • Registration with the South African Board for People Practices;
  • Membership of the Industrial Relations Association of South Africa and/or International Labour and Employment Relations Association.
