Duties and responsibilities:
  • Lecture within paediatrics, biomechanical and neuro in occupational therapy, and relevant fields related to biomechanical and neurological conditions.
  • Provide clinical supervision of students within the fields of paediatrics biomechanical and neuro in occupational therapy, and relevant fields related to biomechanical and neurological conditions.
  • Provide support to skills development within the fields of paediatrics biomechanical and neuro in occupational therapy, and relevant fields related to biomechanical and neurological conditions.
  • Conduct research, publications, and presentations of research.
  • Provide supervision for undergraduate research projects.
  • Provide supervision for postgraduate research projects.
  • Contribute to relevant development within the curriculum.
  • Perform general administration involved within the academic work environment.
  • Attend and contribute to relevant committees and meetings.
Inherent requirements:
  • A Master's degree on NQF level 9 in Occupational Therapy.
  • Proven experience in paediatrics and physical conditions in occupational therapy, and relevant fields related to biomechanical and neurological conditions.
  • Proven experience in the delivery of poster or oral presentations at conferences or equivalent activities.
  • Provide evidence of research publications or submission of article for publication, ideally in an accredited journal.
  • Registered with Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
  • A good academic record.
  • Valid driver's license.

Recommendations:
  • Doctoral degree or willingness to enrol for a doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy at the first available opportunity, if not yet attained by the time of the appointment.
  • Membership with the Occupational Therapy Association of South Africa (OTASA).
  • Experience in higher education and/or supervision of students during clinical training.

Assumption of duties: As soon as possible.

Salary:
The salary scale is available on request.
