Duties and responsibilities:

• Present lectures, tutorials and small-group discussions in Human Anatomy and Physiology for undergraduate students in the Faculty of Health Sciences.
• Present lectures, seminars and tutorials in Human Anatomy and Physiology for postgraduate students in medicine and the health professions.
• Facilitate small-group discussions and practical sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate students in the Faculty of Health Sciences.
• Involvement in curriculum development and module management in modules presented to undergraduate and post graduate students in health professions.
• Participate in the departmental research programme and postgraduate supervision.

Inherent requirements:

Lecturer:

• A Master's degree (in the field of Human Anatomy and Physiology) or M. Med degree on NQF level 9.

Medical Officer: 

• An MBChB. Degree.
• Registration as Physician with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and experience in medical practice.

Recommendations:

• Willingness to enrol for a doctoral degree in the field of Anatomy/Physiology at the first available opportunity, if not yet attained by the time of appointment.
• Research experience in the clinical field of Anatomy/Physiology with evidence of manuscript produced that have the potential to be converted or submitted for publication, ideally in an accredited journal.
• Proven academic work experience in the higher education sector.
• Proven experience in the delivery of poster or oral presentations at conferences or equivalent activities.
• A valid driver's license.
