MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• A PhD in Education Law or Policy studies (NQF Level 10).
• A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the field of higher education.
• Author/co-author of at least 5 research articles in accredited journals since 2021.
• Supervised Masters and Doctoral students to completion with a minimum of 3 Masters’ and 1 PhD student(s).
• Have proven teaching experience in Education Law & Policy studies.
• Involvement in community engagement projects.

ADDED ADVANTAGES & PREFERENCES:

• Research skills, interpersonal skills/communication and computer literacy.
• Involvement in funded research projects.

JOB DESCRIPTION

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Research

• Scholarly guidance, innovation and initiation with regard to research in Education Law.

Teaching

• Teaching modules in Education Law.
• Teaching at all levels in higher education.
• Supervising master’s and PhD students.

Community Engagement

• Initiating and participation community engagement projects.

Development

• Initiating research projects.
• Involvement in community engagement programme.

KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

• Must be proficient in the following:
• Have a proven publication record.
• Have a proven record of presenting/attending relevant national and international conferences.
• Have proven record of successful supervision.
• Have proven record of community engagement.
• Experience of working in a higher education context.

KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:

• Team worker.
• Good interpersonal relations.
• Research skills.

REMUNERATION:

The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
